Julius Cato

My name is Julius Cato. I am a politician in the Roman Senate. We are the leaders of Rome, which is the greatest civilisation in all the world.
I was not always a senator. I am a patrician, and my father was in the senate, so when he died I was elected to his seat. But obviously I had to join the army first. I fought in the tenth legion when we marched to Hispania to stop Haníbal from attacking Saguntum. Hannibal wasn’t there when we got to Hispania though, so we fought with other Carthaginian soldiers. Hannibal best all the Roman armies in Italy but we beat his brother Hasdrubal on the Iberian Peninsula, and won the war for Rome!
After the war, my legion continued to fight the local celts and Iberians in Hispania but I returned to Rome to join the senate.
One day I hope to return to Hispania, maybe to be a governor of one of the five provinces there, but only after the savage locals have been conquered.
