My name is Kleos Daro and I’m a Greek writer. I live in Athens, the home of democracy. Here when we have a problem we debate it and come up with a solution together. We choose our own leaders to make decisions in the city.
People like me write plays and poems for the people of the city. We talk about what is happening in Athens, and the other Greek city states, so that the people know and can make good decisions.
My brother is a sailor. He works for a merchant who trades with people called the Iberians, very far away on the other side of the Mediterranean Sea. They aren’t very civilised, but they have a lot of metals that we don’t so traders buy them and take them back to Greece. On his last journey my brother stopped in a place called Rome, a city in Italy. He says that the Romans are copying our art and architecture, but they will never be as good as us.
